After a great get-together in the scenic Pacific Northwest at Seattle, Washington, in 2018, the North American Gamebird Association’s annual Educational Conference and Convention moves south and east across the continent to another world-renowned destination.

The association’s 2019 convention is set for January 14-16, 2019, at The DeSoto Hotel in Savannah, Georgia.

As in years past, the decision on where to hold the group’s 87th annual meeting was made after the NAGA Board of Directors, Convention Site Committee members and staff investigated a number of different options based on factors including affordability, access, amenities and area attractions.

“We’re excited to announce the convention is headed to Savannah,” said NAGA Executive Director Rob Sexton. “As the oldest city in Georgia, it is rich in culture and history, offering attendees a wide range of attractions and activities, including fine dining, beaches, shopping, museums, golf, fishing and more.”

Located in the heart of Savannah’s Historic District overlooking Madison Square, The DeSoto welcomes guests with a unique blend of elegance, history and Southern hospitality. Rooms and suites pair modern amenities with residential-style comforts, and offer unparalleled views of the Savannah skyline.

The DeSoto is offering NAGA members a discounted convention room rate of $135 per night, good for two days before and after the convention. “There is a room cap, so we recommend members book early to get the best rate,” Sexton notes.

Getting to Savannah is easy, too. Savannah Hilton Head International Airport is about 20 minutes from downtown Savannah. The airport is served by major airlines including American, Delta, United and Sun Country. Members driving to the convention will find equally easy access on highways I-16 and I-95.

The 2019 NAGA convention will offer a full schedule of information-packed sessions and presentations covering issues critical to gamebird producers, hunting preserve operators and other industry members.

Attendees can also expect plenty of expert advice and money-making tips, along with the chance to meet industry leaders face to face and forge new alliances with key distributors, buyers and potential business partners. The convention’s schedule will also allow ample opportunities to see old acquaintances and make new friends who share the same passion for the gamebird industry.
